Position: Contract Crop Consultant (part-time)

Executive Director/Program Manager

Position Summary

The Crop Consultant oversees the continued execution of contracted CRAFT projects to ensure grower compliance from a production and experimental design standpoint. This position also ensures participants are reporting production data to the CRAFT Data Portal in an accurate and timely manner.

This individual is proficient in the areas of citrus production and crop consulting and is familiar with the maintenance and reporting of citrus production records.

The position collaborates with the Executive Director, Technical Working Group and grower participants to ensure the success of the CRAFT program.


  • Perform bi-annual onsite reviews of each CRAFT grower project to ensure grower participants are adhering to all treatments and practices as outlined in CRAFT participation agreements.
  • Work with Technical Working Group leaders to assist growers in modifying designs as needed in order to ensure continue productivity and well-being of project sites.
  • Assist grower participants with production questions and concerns as related to the experimental design of their CRAFT project.
  • Review data submitted by grower participants in order to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist growers with data reporting questions and concerns from a production standpoint. Technical Data Portal questions and assistance will be provided by Program Manager and other contract partners.
  • Assist Program Manager with other duties related to the execution and management of grower projects as needed.

Experience, Education and Skill Preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in Florida citrus production
  • Bachelor’s degree in citrus, agriculture or other related field
  • Familiarity with and ability to utilize iPad or other similar technology
  • Certified Crop Advisor a plus
  • Experience with Survey123 a plus

Anticipated 15-20 hours per week on average.
